Comfy Beds In New York City’s Bedford Hotel

It is an unfortunate fact that the lengths a traveler goes to experience new places often leaves them exhausted and returning to their rooms in search of nothing more than the comforts of home. Fortunately there are some hotels that specialize in just these comforts. A trip to New York City began for me at 4:30 am with a drive to Buffalo, New York from Toronto. After a short fight to John F. Kennedy airport and a bus ride into Manhattan my list of priorities was short. 1 - Find food. 2 - Get sleep. End of list. The Hotel...

San Francisco Bay Area’s Plugged In Inn – Cupertino Inn

When I travel — especially on business — I want a place that's easy to get to, easy to check in to, a room that works for me, and a few nice things to make me remember it and want to return. I like a smooth, comfortable surrounding. Although lots of flash or ornate architectural statements are sometimes nice, I want to relax and be able to feel like I can behave like I do at home. The Cupertino Inn in Cupertino, California, gets a 9 out of 10 - definitely worth returning to. When we arrived at checkin, I...

Vienna’s Regel Residence – The Imperial Hotel

When the Duke of Wurttemberg came back from a business trip, he was dismayed to find that his backyard, which was essentially a park at that time, had been bisected with a new road. Not one to cross the street to go to the park, the Duke decided that the road had ruined his Vienna palace and put it up for sale. There are those who would say that it was financial woes, not dissatisfaction with progress, which caused the Duke to hang the "For Sale" sign in the window. Still, whatever the impetus, the palace sold, the Duke moved...

The Ghosts of Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is one of the many homes of the present Queen of England, several of her royal ancestors, and "non-royal" spirits, one of whom, according to legend was an ancient Saxon hunter named Herne, who was renowned thought out the area for his outstanding hunting abilities. One day the King was in danger of being trampled by an incensed stag while hunting and how Herne putting himself between the King and the...

Berlin Germany Insider Sigtseeing – TOP 10 Sights – Part 3 of 4

Did you know that Berlin has more than 140 Museums? In this third part we will take a walk through the medieval Museum's Island. I strongly recommend using the S-Bahn to go there (station "Friedrichstrasse"). It's just amazing when you recognize how the S-Bahn passes between two of the five Museums. VIIII. Museumsinsel (Museum's Island) Considering that Berlin has more than 140 museums, this area is just a tiny part of it. But, the consort of museums found on the Museum Island is a unique cultural inheritance which unites five important museum buildings into a heterogeneous but harmonic ensemble on...

Enjoy Your Next Cruise Without Gaining 10 Pounds

Lets face it, one of the joys of a cruise is the sumptuous world class food that is available everywhere and in great quantities. Needless to say, nearly anyone who has embarked on a cruise has come back a bit heavier, but that doesn’t have to be the case. There are many other amenities aboard every cruise ship that you can enjoy and still fit into your bathing suit at the end of the trip. One key to not overeating is to simply only eat when you are hungry. Avoid the temptation to eat at every chance you get and...
